Industrial Talk in the Oil and Gas Business

An industrial talk on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) in the oil and gas business was recently held on 9 June 2024 at Bilik Lestari 1, PTTA. The event featured Mr. Wan Abdullah bin Wan Hamat as the keynote speaker. Mr. Wan Abdullah is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in various fields including Custodian (Inspection Engineering), Materials, Corrosion and Inspection (MCI), Group Technical Solution (GTS), Project Delivery & Solution (PD&T), and has worked with Petronas. The talk was attended by 90 students and representatives from two industry partners.

During the talk, Mr. Wan Abdullah discussed the critical role of NDT in maintaining the integrity and safety of oil and gas infrastructure. He drew from his vast experience to provide practical insights into the application of NDT techniques such as ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and radiographic testing. These techniques are essential for inspecting pipelines, storage tanks, and offshore platforms to detect defects and prevent failures, ensuring operational efficiency and environmental safety. Attendees also had the opportunity to learn about Mr. Wan Abdullah's professional journey and his diverse roles within the industry.
